UNITED STATES EMBASSY ENDORSES OCTOBER 10 ELECTION. The US Embassy in Monrovia has given validity to the October 10, 2017 presidential and representative elections. In a statement issued on Wednesday November 15, 2017, the Embassy said the elections were credible. The Embassy also said it was moved by the turnout of more than a million Liberians to vote on Tuesday October 10. The US Embassy’s laudable comments come in the wake of legal proceedings into complaints of election “fraud and irregularities”. The National Elections Commission (NEC), through its chairman Jerome Korkoya has maintained the Commission, in spite of challenges, conducted free, fair, transparent and credible elections on October 10. The US Embassy in Monrovia, by extension the American government, has indorsed chairman’s Korkoya’s position. Liberian politics will never cease to amaze me, if you are following the Liberian election closely you will realize that Charles Brumskine had an interview with the BBC in which he label several allegations against president Ellen Johnson Sirlef. In response to those allocations, the information minister of the Ellen lead government has come out strongly in his boss's defense. Below is the full statement from the minister. “The Government of Liberia takes strong exception to comments made by the Standard Bearer of the Liberty Party, Cllr. Charles Brumskine to the effect that President Sirleaf interfered with and ensured the rigging of the 2017 General and Presidential Elections. The Government also rejects claims by Cllr.
