UNITED STATES EMBASSY ENDORSES OCTOBER 10 ELECTION. The US Embassy in Monrovia has given validity to the October 10, 2017 presidential and representative elections. In a statement issued on Wednesday November 15, 2017, the Embassy said the elections were credible. The Embassy also said it was moved by the turnout of more than a million Liberians to vote on Tuesday October 10. The US Embassy’s laudable comments come in the wake of legal proceedings into complaints of election “fraud and irregularities”. The National Elections Commission (NEC), through its chairman Jerome Korkoya has maintained the Commission, in spite of challenges, conducted free, fair, transparent and credible elections on October 10.
