Young and Ailing Liberian Footballer Family Makes SOS Call
Monrovia - Family members of young Liberian Footballer James Kpelleh Dorbor are calling on well-meaning Liberians to come to the aid of the defensive midfielder who is currently suffering from a strange swelling and growth on his face.

James Dorbor who played for former second division outfit Sese FC from Bushrod Island has been ill for the past seven months with the health complication.
According to his mother, Bendu Mulbah, her son’s medical condition started in August of 2016 following his graduation from the Mark J. Richards High School in the St. Paul Bridge community. She said, it began with pain in his mouth, but they thought it was toothache.
She said after three weeks, the problem became worst.
“After appealing to friends and well-meaning Liberians, we were able to take him to Guinea for operation in March of 2017, we spent three weeks in Guinea and the operation was successful, we then returned to Liberia on March28, 2017,” his mother explained.
She told FrontPage Africa that the growth resurfaced early April to surprise of the entire family – a situation she said was causing embarrassment for the family.
James’ medical condition is not improving; he cannot eat solid food.
Rickson Harris Baines, a close friend of his, told FrontPageAfrica he admired the ailing footballer style of play when he was active on the field.
Baines said, “What we are saying is that all Liberians, humanitarian organizations, NGOs, our responsibility to one another is to help each other.
As a young defensive midfielder coming up, to see him in such condition is not good; he needs help.
“His mother has four kids and because of his Illness, they are all not in school because all her money from the sales of dishes goes toward his medication. We need to help take him out of Liberia.”
He wants all lovers of the game of football to come to the aid of the 20-year midfielder who could be a great player for Liberia in years to come.

“My fear is that if the public does not come to help him, he may die which we do not want to see happening.”
“He is pale in body as you can see because the food he is currently eating cannot give him that amount of blood he needs,” Baines added.
 Baines who took his ailing friend to Guinea with the help of contribution from community leaders of St. Paul Bridge where he and his mother live said in early April 2017 when the growth resurfaced, he was again taken to Guinea but doctors there said they could not treat him and advised they flew him to Senegal for advanced treatment.
He said most hospitals they have visited here in Liberia said they could not carryout the operation and it would be best if they took him to Morocco for treatment.
According to him, a total of US$6,000 is needed for his transportation, accommodation and medication if they are to fly him to Morocco.
